Horizontal automatic packing machines characterised by package formation within the machine using two film coils normally made of different material. Depending on the material used, packages can be flexible or rigid. This type of machine is aimed both at food and non food markets.

Thermoforming packaging can be used to package fresh products in modified atmosphere packaging (MAP). The thermoformer forms the bottom film to the product, then the product is inserted and the top film is sealed.
It is also popular to pack non food products with this type of machines. It is called blister packaging and most usual applications are stationery, tools, toys, electric equipment and others.
